What can we do there?

Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities across all seasons, including:

  • Hiking and Walking Trails: Explore nearly 20 kilometers of trails that wind through diverse habitats such as grasslands, jack pine forests, and wetlands. ​

  • Cross-Country Skiing: During winter, approximately 12 kilometers of trails are groomed for cross-country skiing, with nearly 5 kilometers lit for evening skiing. ​

  • Gardens and Wildlife Observation: Visit various gardens, including butterfly gardens and the Rain Garden, and observe local wildlife in their natural habitats. 

  • Educational Programs and Events: Participate in classes, workshops, and events focused on conservation, gardening, and nature education.


How far is it from True North?

The Northland Arboretum is approximately 12 miles from True North, making it about a 20-minute drive.


When is it open?

  • Visitor Center Hours: Tuesday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; Closed on Mondays. ​

  • Grounds Access: Open to members and paying guests from sunrise to sunset daily. 


How much does it cost?

  • Gate Fee: $10 per adult; $5 for children 15 and under, veterans, and seniors 65+. ​

  • Memberships: Various membership options are available, such as Individual Memberships for $40 annually, which include admission and additional benefits.
