Welcome to True North, a wonderful 5-acre property for large groups to host their special events. From an annual family vacation to an intimate wedding. From a spirited team retreat to a getaway with a close-knit group of friends. At True North, large groups get resort-like amenities on a property they’ll have all to themselves.
Off the property, enjoy fishing and boating on the world-class Gull Lake Chain, eating and shopping in historic Downtown Nisswa, or a wide range of outdoor recreational activities and sports in the surrounding Brainerd Lakes Area. True North has been host to dozens of special events over many years – creating true Minnesota memories that last a lifetime.
Family Vacations & Reunions
True North is a unique vacation rental for large families, or groups of families, seeking an unforgettable getaway. The four buildings on our spacious property provide a range of options for multi-generational groups who might want – or need – different types of accommodations.
While an active group of adults might want to stay together in the big Lodge House, older generations might like one-level Clubhouse. A young couple with an infant might like the quiet of the Little Cabin, while a group of kids might want to campout in the one-room Bunkhouse in the woods. Overall, True North can accommodate up to 30 people, depending on the number of couples and kids and desired sleeping arrangements.
Weddings
Since 2018, True North has been host to many memorable weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners and bridal showers. Often scheduled for a sunset over Roy Lake, our outdoor wedding events on Lodge House back lawn seat up to 60 people, while indoor weddings in the main Lodge Room seat up to 30 people. Other wedding-related events vary in size and scope, depending on the group and its needs. True North rents its own wedding chairs, as well as reception tables & chairs; and we have partnered with excellent local caterers, chefs and other vendors for all of your wedding needs.
Group Retreats
Looking to host a different kind of next organizational retreat? Look no further than True North. We have hosted strategic offsites, team-building weekends, film shoots, book club gatherings and other events for people from around Minnesota and across the nation. True North, Nisswa and the Brainerd Lakes area offer a wide range of fun activities both on and off property, both on the water and in town, that can help any group get inspired, build relationships and promote teamwork.
