What can we do there?

At the Nisswa Turtle Races, you can participate in or watch live turtle racing competitions. For a fee of $5.00, participants receive an official 2025 racing button and the use of a turtle for the race. Due to state regulations, bringing your own turtle is not permitted. ​


How far is it from True North?

The races are held at the Official Nisswa Turtle Track, located behind the Nisswa Chamber of Commerce building at 25532 Main Street, Nisswa, MN 56468. This location is approximately 1 mile from True North, making it a convenient 3-minute drive or a 20-minute walk.​


When is it open?

The 62nd Annual Nisswa Turtle Races are scheduled every Wednesday from June 4 to August 13, 2025. Registration begins at 1:00 PM, and the races start at 2:00 PM, continuing until all races are completed.


How much does it cost?

Participation in the races costs $5.00 per racer, which includes an official 2025 racing button and the use of a turtle. Spectators can enjoy the event free of charge.
